Results from Week #5 – I’ve lost .2 lbs.

Week #6

Starting weight:  159.4 lbs

Goal weight:  140 lbs

Not a huge loss but at least I wasn’t gaining!  I’m really trying to cut back on how much I’m eating, on top of cutting back on sugars.  Last week I felt good and was able to limit my portions somewhat easily.  Praying this week goes even better!  How are you doing?

Week #5

February 10, 2010 - Leave a Response

I’ve gained .2 lbs.

No excuse other than cutting back on sugars and carbs is a slow process.  My weight is jumping up and down, every day.  One day I’ll be up 2, and then down 1 the next .

I’m still trying to watch my sugar intake but carbs have been a little harder.  I do really well for breakfast and lunch but I fail at dinner.  I’m not giving up but I am re-evalutating my diet.

I’m considering doing the Daniel Fast soon.  I enjoy taking part in Lent so this may be something I try!

I hope things are going well for you!

See you next week!

Week #4

Starting weight:  159.6 lbs

Goal weight:  140 lbs

So I didn’t have a great week!  I spent the weekend running around, eating out, and just not watching what I was eating.  It caught up to me.  Thankfully this is a new week!  I found a Dancing With The Stars workout DVD my mom gave me so I’m going to give it a try this week….when no one is watching!  LOL!

Hoping for better results next week!

Week #2

Results for Week #1 – I lost 2.4 lbs!

Week #2

Starting weight: 161.6 lbs

Goal weight: 140 lbs

I spent last week cutting back on processed sugars and carbs.    I still eat fruits, milk, etc., that have natural sugars.  Overall, it went well!  I had a few cravings for something sweet so I just grabbed some sugarless gum and that helped!  I’m hoping to add some exercising this week, maybe 3 days a week.  Wish me luck!

PS – how did you do this past week?

Check back next Monday to see how my first week went!

New Year Resolution

January 4, 2010 - Leave a Response

I actually have several.  I won’t get into all of them but I like to break it down like this:  There are things I want to improve for myself, my marriage, and my family.  I sat down last year and made a list.  I pulled that list out yesterday and realized I had accomplished right many of my resolutions!  So it’s time to make new ones…better ones…challenging ones.

For myself, I want to eat healthier.  I know a lot of people say that but I really mean it.  I want to feel better, have more energy and overall, like myself.  I’ve got to make the effort or it will never happpen.  I also want to drink more water.  I hate water.  I have never liked it and still don’t.  Occassionally I like a big glass of ICE water and it has to be really cold for me to drink it.  I’m hoping that it will help keep my body hydrated and my skin clear, among other things.

I’m not stressing over the exercising, I figure it will come with time.  My main focus is eating better.  I’ve decided to try a new “diet”  and hope that in the process it will become a new lifestyle.  I’m cutting back on sugars and carbs.  It’s very similar to the South Beach diet or Atkins, but I am still able to have some sugars and carbs.   I won’t get into detail, unless you ask, but I’m starting tomorrow with a new way to eat!  I hear that cutting back on sugars and carbs will help you lose belly fat and that’s where I need all the help I can get!

I will continue to add new recipes to www.tiffanyskitchen.wordpress.com , some healthy and some not-so-healthy!

Now for the interesting part, I plan on weighing in once a week and I’m asking you to be my accountability partner.  I figure if I am brave enough to post my starting weight and continue each week to share my loss (or possible gain) with you, that I will be more motivated to really do something!  Feel free to join in, and no you don’t have to put your weight.  It’s up to you!  You can share your loss each week, recipes, tips, etc…, whatever you want!  Please don’t be negative, we want to encourage each other!!!

So look for my next post in the morning!  🙂

Free Time

October 2, 2009 - Leave a Response

I’ve come to realize that my crazy, busy days are now “normal” days!  If I don’t have some where to go or something to do, I think something is wrong.  I love my family, my children, my church, my clubs, and homeschooling but good gracious, between them all I never have any time for myself!

All of that to say, I have not eaten healthy and I still haven’t found time to exercise.  I’m going to buy a new pair of  jeans this weekend.  You’re probably thinking what David said, “No, don’t buy new ones, you know what you need to do.”  Thankfully for him I was in a good mood!  😉  I run myself to death all day, and then fall into bed at 9:00pm.  I just haven’t found a “free” minute in my day to exercise and to be honest, if I do have a free minute do I really want to exercise?!?!  I’ll let you answer that one….

And since I have so much free time, I thought I would start another blog!  No, I’m serious…you’ll just have to wait and see!  😛

Here’s a hint…

New Groove

September 3, 2009 - Leave a Response

Well, it’s been almost a week since I started this blog and this is the first time I’ve been on!  Pretty sad, huh?

Things have been hopping around here this week!  I started homeschooling my oldest son(L).  My youngest(S) will start preschool on the 14th, so that will be one more adjustment to our new groove.  So far our schooling has gone well, with a few exceptions.  I’ve started observing what L eats in the morning because I noticed a drastic change in his behavior this week.  After doing some reading last night, I came across an article that defined his behavior to a “T”.    Basically he’s getting too much sugar.  He had a brown sugar pop-tart for breakfast yesterday, which gave him a quick energy boost.  Then his blood sugar levels plummeted (below where they started), causing him to become irritable, moody and unable to concentrate.  So guess what, no more pop-tarts, sugared  cereal,  or sugar for that matter for breakfast.  But I think this will be a great change for us all!  I’ve always said I need more protein so here’s my chance to help the entire family.

As for getting this child-bearing body into shape, I really haven’t made much attempt this week.   I have watched what I was eating, you know watch it ALL go down!  Nah, just kidding!  I’ve tried to stick to my Smart-Start cereal or eggs for breakfast and for lunch I have been enjoying Taquitos (found at Sam’s) with a side of cherry tomatoes and a dallop of sour cream!  YUMMY!!!  I can’t say much about supper, except the fact that I have managed to plan our meals this week and it’s been great!  Easy to prepare and mighty tasty, if I do say so myself!

My mom is also wanting to lose weight and feel better so I invited her to check out my page.  It’s a great way for us to keep up with one another.  Mom ordered me a new cookbook.

I can’t wait to start cooking healthier meals!   This book got GREAT reviews and I have high-hopes for it.  I’ll keep you posted!

I’ve got a dirty floor calling the vacuum cleaner…the joys of 2 boys and being at home!  🙂
